My Story
“I have always recorded the environment around me and how it makes me feel. I am particularly drawn to dramatic, rocky landscapes and love the immediacy of plein air painting, capturing the light, shapes and colours of what I see before me.”
Wendy Jagger creates fine art paintings, master-crafted porcelain vessels, tableware and bespoke porcelain lighting, which is strongly influenced by Australia’s diverse landscapes and flora. Jagger revels in painting amidst the landscape with all its logistical challenges and pieces created on location are further developed in a range of painting media, stoneware clay and translucent porcelain.
Her work is held in public and private collections around Australia and internationally. She has been selected for numerous art awards commissions, including ministerial and corporate gifts.
Surrounded by the beautiful alpine environment of Victoria’s North East, Wendy Jagger Studio looks directly to Mt Buller, and here she successfully runs classes and workshops in painting and ceramics.
Come inside the studio.
It all begins with an idea. A dream. A memory. A mood. An impression.
This is where I turn those thoughts, dreams, ideas and musings into visual reality. Sometimes I will draw, or paint or wedge some clay and throw it on the wheel into an elegant porcelain vessel. Come with me, into my world…
Come and peek inside my studio in the High Country
